Amaia Bloom  (Euskal Herria – Barcelona)

The name Darabil comes from the Basque word “use”and it is a statement of intents. When something stops to be used it disappears, it dies. This project is an attempt to keep alive some techniques that are not as popular today as they used to be in the past. I have always been curious about how things are built.

I have tried to learn every thing possible about the process of creation, as an apprentice in the workshop of a dressmaker and as a student in the Faculty of Fine Arts. Darabil was born with the intention of creating beautiful and unique handmade pieces as well as to spread the acquired knowledge in the form of workshops, to keep it alive.
